Wait List Process and Information

Kelly’s Place Children’s Centre (KPCC) is a community-based non-profit Long Day Care Centre for children from six weeks old to school age. KPCC is managed by a group of interested parents who make up the Management Committee (elected at the Annual General Meeting).

KPCC provides a high quality educational program which recognises the interests and needs of individual children and supports development in a warm and caring environment.

KPCC has received an Exceeding rating in all areas of our program under The National Quality Framework in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2012.

Hours

We are open from 7.30am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday for 50 weeks of the year. We close for approx. 2 weeks over the Christmas period and Public Holidays.

Number of Children

We have a license to accommodate 40 children daily. The breakdown is:

0-2 years: 10 places –we have 4 cots available thus only 4 babies per day under 18mths

2-3 years: 10 places

3-5 years: 20 places

Wait List Demand

KPCC has an extensive wait list for all age groups with the greatest demand being for the 0-2 year old places. As such there is no guarantee that every wait list application will receive an offer of a placement at KPCC. It is hard to predict if and when a place will be available.

Positions within the centre are allocated in accordance with the Priority of Access Guidelines and centre availability. For more information about Priority of Access Guidelines please visit http://www.education.gov.au/priority-allocating-places

The main influx for the centre is in late January/February as older children head off to school creating movement within the centre.

KPCC maintains a minimum of two day per week enrolments as an essential part of building relationships with peers and educators.

KPCC Educators

KPCC believes high staff:child ratios and the number of qualified staff are key aspects in the success of early childhood education. We therefore employ more educators and more qualified educators than required by The Education and Care Services National Regulations.

KPCC is managed on a day to day basis by two Directors, who are both qualified Early Childhood Teachers (Bachelor of Education). There are also two other Early Childhood Trained Teachers, four+ Diploma Educators, seven Child Care Educators / Certificate III Educators and two job share cooks. Our dedicated, energetic educators are deployed as primary educators to a particular age group. These educators are responsible for the programming in their group and maintaining observations of the children. The age groups are known as the Koalas, Kangaroos and Possums.

Fees

A daily fee is charged for each child. Fees include meals, excursions, shows and extra curricular experiences offered during the year.

Fees are payable fortnightly in advance.
