Our Routine
Our daily routine is an outline of key transitions that occur throughout the day. It is flexible to allow for individuals, small groupings of children, the seasons, the weather, events, excursions and other curriculum ideas.
Our babies have individualised routines.
Daily Routine / Key Transitions
7.30am - We welcome our families “Worimi”
Family Grouping Experiences either in the big room or the big yard depending upon the weather
Breakfast is served between 7.30 and 8.30am
8.30-9.00am
Family Grouping Experiences - transitioning to outdoor big yard if required
9.00am
Koala children transition from Family Grouping to the Little Room or VIP playground
9.30am
Acknowledgement to Country song - our Cammeraygal Song and raising of the three flags - Australian, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flag
Children separate into Kangaroo and Possum children groups
Morning Tea Time
Intentional teaching, project work and spontaneous teaching moments for each group
Group times/story times/ reflection times and discussions
11.20am
Koalas and Kangaroos lunch time begins
11.40am
Possums lunch time begins
The Kangaroo and Possums eat lunch in the foyer / dining area. The Koalas eat in the little room.
12noon-12.45pm
Sleep / rest time begins. We, at Kelly’s Place, strongly believe in “down time” mindfulness relaxing time for mental health.
The Koala children sleep in the cot room and little room.
The Kangaroo children sleep / rest in the little room.
The Possum children sleep / rest in the big room.
1.10pm onwards
Children begin to naturally wake.
As children wake or finish resting they quietly read stories on their beds.
1.30pm
Koala and Kangaroo have quiet experiences in the little room and VIP playground.
Possums have quiet indoor experiences in the big room.
2.45pm
Afternoon tea time in their groups
3.00pm onwards
The Kangaroos and Possums combine for outdoor in the big yard or indoors for intentional and spontaneous experiences.
The Koalas are in the little room and VIP playground.
5.00pm
Late snack time
Koalas, Kangaroos and Posums combine for family grouping either indoor in the big room or in the big yard.
6.00pm - We farewell our families till their next day
