Our Qualified Educators

An experienced Early Childhood Teacher Director oversees our curriculum and day to day running. Alongside the Director, we have a dedicated 2IC Early Childhood Teacher and we also employ one other Early Childhood Teacher, bringing our total to three Early Childhood Teachers.

Our total team is made up of approximately 17 educators, all who hold early childhood education qualification such as a Bachelor of Education, or a Diploma or Certificate III through TAFE or tertiary education faculty . As a community of learners, many of our educators are studying towards higher qualifications.

Higher Educator : Child Ratios

We proudly maintain higher educator : child ratios in our day and curriculum. Our educator : child ratio is based on the following model.

  • KPCC 0-2 years (Koalas) = approx. 4 primary educators : approx.10 children

  • KPCC 2-3 years (Kangaroos) = approx. 3 primary educators : approx.10 children

  • KPCC 3-5 years (Possums) = approx. 3 primary educators : approx.20 children

Education and Care Services National Regulations for staff:child ratios are as follows -

0-2 year olds = 1:4

2-3 year olds = 1:5

3-5 year olds = 1:10

Kelly’s Place supports higher staff:child ratios as well as higher qualifications than required by the regulations.

Primary Educator Grouping

Our educators work as a team and are all actively involved in the education and care of all the children. However, we believe in a consistent primary educator approach and therefore our educators throughout the day educate and care for a specific age group.
The primary educators are responsible for the curriculum and documentation of learning for the specific age group.  They have the closes relationship with your family and child.

Our primary educator groups are known as Koalas, Kangaroos and Possums.
